This document provides a methodology checklist for systematically reviewing and conducting meta-analyses. It acknowledges the AMSTAR tool for assessing methodological quality of systematic reviews on which this checklist is based. The checklist contains sections for assessing the internal validity of a review, including whether the research question is defined, a comprehensive literature search was performed, studies were selected and data was extracted by multiple people, excluded studies are listed, and study quality was assessed and used appropriately in drawing conclusions. The overall methodological quality and applicability of any review assessed with this checklist is then evaluated.
