Programs that generate citations can now output citations in the Citation File Format, which improves how computer programs are cited in research. This new format allows citations from software to be accurately included in reference lists. It also helps software to be discovered and credited as a research contribution like traditional publications. The presenters provided information on how the Citation File Format works and encouraged adoption of the new standard.
