This job is nothing like any other job I have done. I do a lot more management and administration in this role. I am
responsible for managing a team of people and I am responsible for the running of the Hull Clinic. I do the Banking,

Process staffs hours for payroll. Make sure that staff meet their financial targets. Carry out stock control. Perform
Member Practice visits. Maintain clinic equipment. Make sure that staff follow SOP’s/RCVS code of Conduct/H&S
protocols and promote Clinical Bench Marking. Perform staff yearly reviews. I encourage good call conversions and

in the clinic and from home via a company phone and laptop. I am capable of delivering what the company wants to

Oct 2005 to March 2010 … Vets4Pets, 33 Louth Road, Grimsby, DN33 2HP
HeadVeterinaryNurse:
This is a small animal clinic and my work day was split into admissions, running nurse clinics, assisting operations,
medicating/monitoring inpatients, cleaning, billing, stock ordering and completing pet insurance claims. I was originally
taken on as a Veterinary Nurse and then later promoted to Head Nurse in November 2007.
This practice ran for a long time on locum vets. It was at this point I was promoted to Head Nurse due to my efforts in
trying to keep the practice held together and running smoothly. I liaised closely with the area Manager daily, and carried
out many extra jobs/requests in work time and out. I dealt with client concerns and solved day to day problems. This
resulted in me winning the “Team Player” award at Vets4Pets Congress in 2008.
Jan 2005 to Sept 2005 … Rase Veterinary Clinic, Laceby Road, Grimsby
VeterinaryNurse:
This practice covered large and small animals. I was a member of a very large team of people. The very well equipped
practice consists of one large hospital and two smaller branch surgeries, as my experience was mainly in small animals I
mainly worked at the local Grimsby branch. As the practice was well staffed with a person for every job my worked
concentrated more on the specialist areas of nurse training for example administering drips/drugs, dental work, minor
surgery, monitoring anaesthetics and assisting operations
Feb 1996 to Nov 2004 … Waltham Veterinary Clinic, Grimsby Road, Waltham, DN37 0PR
HeadVeterinaryNurse:
This small animal rural practice with 1 veterinary surgeon in the local village of Waltham. I gained my veterinary
Nursing qualification there in 1999 and since that date I increased my responsibilities. I monitored anesthetics, carried
out minor ops under supervision and within the RCVS legal parameters, and set up drips etc. I also worked on an
emergency Call Out Rota every 2nd
week for the 8 years,
In 2003 I was promoted to Head Nurse. I was responsible for stock checking and ordering, maintaining equipment and
organizing rota’s. I also had the pleasure of training other members of staff. When the practice bought a branch surgery
in 2004 in the village of Ulceby (Ulceby Veterinary Clinic) I was responsible for getting it set up and running. I had
arranged to leave in the summer of 2004 but stayed until the November, when both surgeries where running efficiently
