Past Work Experience
STUDENT ASSISTANT | MARX LIBRARY | 2015- PRESENT
I am currently working at the University of South Alabama Marx Library as a student assistant. In this position, I have
learned the Dewey decimal system and organize returned books in this order and return them to their shelves. I do
organization projects regarding the books such as shifting books to different shelves to make room for newbooks, or
organizing the professor DVD assignments. I also do specific tasks asked of me by my supervisor which may include
searching for a book a student has claimed to have turned in but we have no record of, or removing signs from bulletin
boards. I also am allowed to sit at the circulation desk and help students check in and out books when my organizational
duties are complete.
COPY EDITOR | THE VANGUARD| 2016- PRESENT
I am currently working for the University of South Alabama’s newspaper “The Vanguard” as the copy editor. As the copy
editor, I am responsible for content editing for spelling, grammar, style etc. mistakes, as well as deciding whether an
article is well written enough, relevant enough, interesting enough to be sent to the head editor for publication. All of
the section editors send me articles written by their reporters to review before sending to the head editor, making
communication a key component of my work.
SINGING PRINCESS PERFORMER | SNOWFLAKE ENTERTAINMENT | 2016- PRESENT
I am currently working as a singing princess for Snowflake Entertainment in Mobile, AL. As a princess, I dress up as
various different Disney characters (mostly Mulan,Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty, Anna, and Ariel) and perform songs at
parties for young children, and interact with said children in the character of whatever princess I am playing at that
moment. This job requires patience and improvisational skills that make problem solving in a crisis moment easier than
it would have been before my experience with this job.
TEMPORARY RECEPTIONIST| VARIOUS INSTITUTIONS VIA SNELLING| 2015
I have worked as a temporary receptionist at various work places via the placement of the temp agency Snelling in
Huntsville, Alabama. As a receptionist I would take and transfer calls, take messages, organize files, run errands for
employees, direct guests, and dolight housekeeping.
GRASSROOTS ORGANIZING WEEKEND TRAINER | UNITED STATES STUDENT ASSOCIATION | 2014- 2015
I have worked as a student trainer and activist for the United States Student Association (USSA), based in Washington DC.
The primary responsibilities I had as a GROW trainer were to travel to other campuses to teach students how to
organize, organizing on my own campus, and attending GROW leadership trainings across the country and through the
internet. I also have attended severalreproductive justice conferences with the help of USSA and their constituents.
