Strong leadership has always been important for healthcare organizations,
but in today’s competitive environment it is critical. Disruptions are
emerging from every corner of the industry. Economic pressures, regulatory
changes, technological advancements, and even rising consumerism are
placing considerable demands on healthcare leaders. The opportunities
and challenges these factors create today are influencing leadership in
healthcare. B.E. Smith’s Leadership Intelligence Report, a survey of more than
800 healthcare executives, reflects the transformation currently underway.
This industry report will examine how external and internal factors are not
only impacting today’s executives, but shaping tomorrow’s leaders.
Healthcare’s changing business model is disrupting the necessary leadership competencies and
creating new and evolving leadership roles. A World Economic Forum study refers to this as a lack
of “skills stability” and asserts leaders must “anticipate and prepare for future skills requirements.”1
As Figure 1 highlights, these changes are driven by a convergence of risk, speed, complex operating
pressures, and a highly competitive market. Previously, executives were able to utilize a set of
standard competencies to effectively lead their organizations to success. Today, executives must
continually assess what skills and behaviors breed success now and in the future.
B.E. Smith’s Leadership Intelligence Report identified several attributes as most critical. (See Figure 2.)
Vision and strategy led the way, confirming the intense focus on managing for the future. Integrity,
a close second, enables leaders to establish trust and gain buy-in for often uncertain long-term
strategies. One management expert
believes that authenticity is among
the most important components of
integrity and “a foundation of all
true success and highly successful
leadership.”2

As a manager in Ford Rehabilitation centre, I have encountered several challenges in both external environment and internal environment that have greatly challenged the increasing demands of my patients’ services as well as failure of the reimbursements of funds by the insurance providers. Environmental conditions normally affect human health in varied means. Interactions between the environment and human health usually lead to very complex ethical queries that are related to health policy decisions. There are various factors in the environment that can lead to risks and the same time benefits. They include genetically modified plants, nanotechnology, bio fuels and other technology. There is a body of evidence that have emerged saying that environment can affect the health of human being and at the same time human health can have impact to the environment.
The external factors are factors in the environment that cannot be controlled by an organization. There are several external factors that affect many health organizations; these factors include political conditions, government policies and regulations, technological environment and social environment. In my organization the two key external factors affecting my company are the social environment and technological environment. Social factors have developed challenge in the Ford rehabilitation centre. This is because many patient customers have varied and different types of beliefs which make the relations in the health centre challenged. It have become problematic to deal with some patients since it is difficult to know the type of services they need based on where they have come from. Various patients have diverse transformation in attitude towards health care. The patients are however very demanding in my organization because each one of them needs to be handled differently based on community variations. In order to curb this, as manager I have decided to implement several programs that will promote cooperation between my patients as well amendments that will bring in suitable services to each patient. Implementation of this programs will enable my organization to continue being indispensible and financially stable despite the social challenges affecting the availability of patients in the organization.
Another external factor in the environment that will have a great impact in my company is technological environment. Implementation of more advanced methods to serve my customers is likely to improve patients’ attendance and this will boost the compan.

Introduction
A healthcare system should be well organized and should consist of trained personnel who mainly work with a company or an organization. Physicians, nurses, doctors, pharmacists are some of the examples of health care providers. This is a system that provides professional services to patients that are in high need of treatment as inpatients who are treated generally as outpatients. I decided to select physicians as health care providers and also as medical practitioners since they are always in demand in the medical field, day after another. This is a professional medical practitioner or by simple terms, a doctor who has completed highly advanced training in providing a range of mostly non-surgical health care to patients. A physician should have adverse knowledge in a medical specialty. The main concern is to maintain, restore, and promote health via the study, treatment, and diagnosis of a disease of patients to ensure their wellbeing.
Direct Impact of a Physician
Most companies direct the efforts of their marketing towards physicians to the consumers who are their patients; the shots are put in the physicians through the sale of drugs and also by advertising in most of the medical journals. Most of the largest chunk is put in place towards the detailing of marketing expenditure through advertisement. Some direct adverse impacts towards physicians are the misleading claims, indications that are unapproved and also overstated clinical issues. It has led to patients heading to physicians on a matter regarding well preventive healthcare (Machanda, 2005) since most drug adverts have left patients having an excellent aid of discussions with their physicians regarding treatment through which only safe drugs are allowed.
Physicians and their patients have put into caution through dealing with advertisement of drugs as they use forums which are web-based for their advertisements as they have a literature of promotion on their background which makes them be excluded in the blacklist by companies and by the agency of the regulatory. The detailing through rifeness over the drugs life has been adopted as an explanation of better effectiveness and efficiency of physician firms and improvement of patient’s health. As an industry, it plays a vital role in the economy of the world and also promoting the welfare of the consumers who are the citizens of the nation towards the healthcare industry.

The U.S. Healthcare Delivery System
There is a rapid change within the healthcare system in the United States. The
changes that have occurred were made for the purpose of improving quality,
rewarding value and not volume, as well as integrating and coordinating the care
(Seshamani & Sen, 2018). As such, this paper will seek to put into consideration
current healthcare laws within the U.S. and the nurse’s role within this continuously
changing environment; the manner in which quality measures and pay for performance
affect patient outcomes. Furthermore, the emerging trends in the healthcare system,
professional nursing leadership, and management roles will be discussed.
The Emerging Health Care Laws and their Effects on Nursing Practice
One of the most crucial healthcare legislat ions that has been enacted in the United
States since the inception of Medicare and Medicaid in 1965 is the Affordable Care
Act (Obama, 2016). The ACA was enacted in 2010. Issues relat ing to affordability,
ease of access, and the care quality within the United States healthcare system were
some of the driving factors that formed the list of many t ime spanning challenges
that compiled the init iat ion of this legislat ion. Between 2010 to 2015 there was a
decrease in the number of uninsured cit izens in the U.S. by forty three percent as an
effect of the Affordable Care Act.
The payment systems in healthcare are undergoing some changes and the access to
care has also improved (Obama, 2016). The ACA promotes preventive healthcare
models that put emphasis on quality care, primary care, and the funding of community
health init iat ives (Lathrop and Hodnicki, 2014). Millions of previously uninsured cit izens
are also provided insurance coverage and also some healthcare areas that need
reforms so as to meet the needs of patients’ improved healthcare outcomes are
highly focused by the act. The act has an effect on nursing practice in several ways.
The first effect is that the act creates a high demand for healthcare professionals
that are sufficiently trained to provide healthcare services that are up to the acts’
standards. The second effect is that Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs)
who hold the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) are required to be prepared so that
they can meet the increased needs through the provision of leadership skills in
community health centers. These professionals are also held accountable for direct ing
and advocating for future init iates as well as ser.

changes that have occurred were made for the purpose of improving quality,
rewarding value and not volume, as well as integrating and coordinating the care
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
