Šis lietuvių kalba prieinamos literatūros apie vystomojo bendradarbiavimo teminiais ir geografiniais aspektais sąvadas buvo atliktas įgyvendinant projektą „Baltijos valstybių sprendėjų, nuomonės formuotojų ir skleidėjų informuotumo didinimas apie vystymą “, remiamą Europos Komisijos ir Lietuvos Respublikos Užsienio reikalų ministerijos. Literatūros paieška buvo vykdoma 2010 m. apklausiant vystomojo bendradarbiavimo institucijas ir organizacijas, tiriant šaltinius viešosiose bibliotekose ir internete. Parengtas teminis informacijos sąvadas kurtas naudojant mapping‘o metodiką paieškos užklausas vykdant teminiais ir geografiniais raktiniai žodžiais.

Socialinės ir ekonominės plėtros centro užsakymu 2011 rugpjūtį tyrimų bendrovė RAIT atliko gyventojų apklausą apie nevyriausybinių organizacijų žinomumą. Lietuvos gyventojų paprašius išvardinti tris nevyriausybines organizacijas, 42% paminėjo Caritas, ketvirtadalis (24%)- Maisto banką, beveik dešimtadalis (9%) – Raudonąjį kryžių. Šios trys organizacijos taip pat buvo dažniausiai paminimos pirmiausiai (Caritą, Maisto banką ir Raudonąjį kryžių pirmiausiai paminėjo atitinkamai 28%, 12% ir 3% respondentų).
