How to Begin Making “Data-Driven Decisions" Using Data IntegrationSafe Software
If you’re in the corporate world, chances are you’ve heard this phrase in the last year: “we need to make data-driven decisions.” It’s a simple phrase but often complicated to implement as it involves identifying KPIs, collecting the measurable data, analyzing the data for facts, and turning the insights into actions that will grow your business.
So how exactly do you start the process of “data-driven decisions” when there is data everywhere – data of all different kinds and in all different locations? The task can sound downright daunting or even impossible.
Our ability to freely share and use data is too often plagued with interoperability challenges. Data integration is the key to alleviating this problem. Put simply, data integration helps different systems and formats work together. The ultimate goal is to generate valuable and usable information to help solve problems and gain new insights, a.k.a. data-driven decisions!
In this webinar, learn how data integration can be used in any and all industries. And see how the workflows increase communication between departments, provide better customer service, streamline operations, improve decision making, and overall increase productivity.
How Utilities can Improve Operations using Data Integration WorkflowsSafe Software
Utility companies need to process and distribute information for a variety of scenarios, including design and planning, operational efficiency, cross-team communication, asset management, outage and leak management, distribution network maintenance, and sharing data with the public and stakeholders.
Data integration workflows can automatically handle all of this, freeing up your time and resources so you can focus on other tasks.
In this webinar, we’ll discuss 5 workflows that utility companies around the world are implementing, using real case studies as inspiration:
1. Synchronizing data across systems and formats, e.g. for internal operations or distribution network maintenance.
2. Data validation and quality control.
3. Data migration, e.g. to the Esri Utility Network, CAD-GIS migrations, or other systems.
4. Delivering and distributing critical information.
5. Embracing new technologies for innovation, e.g. smart grids, drones, AR.

Why React Native as a Strategic Advantage for Startup Innovation.pdfayushiqss
Do you know that React Native is being increasingly adopted by startups as well as big companies in the mobile app development industry? Big names like Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest have already integrated this robust open-source framework.
In fact, according to a report by Statista, the number of React Native developers has been steadily increasing over the years, reaching an estimated 1.9 million by the end of 2024. This means that the demand for this framework in the job market has been growing making it a valuable skill.
But what makes React Native so popular for mobile application development? It offers excellent cross-platform capabilities among other benefits. This way, with React Native, developers can write code once and run it on both iOS and Android devices thus saving time and resources leading to shorter development cycles hence faster time-to-market for your app.
Let’s take the example of a startup, which wanted to release their app on both iOS and Android at once. Through the use of React Native they managed to create an app and bring it into the market within a very short period. This helped them gain an advantage over their competitors because they had access to a large user base who were able to generate revenue quickly for them.

How to Position Your Globus Data Portal for Success Ten Good PracticesGlobus
Science gateways allow science and engineering communities to access shared data, software, computing services, and instruments. Science gateways have gained a lot of traction in the last twenty years, as evidenced by projects such as the Science Gateways Community Institute (SGCI) and the Center of Excellence on Science Gateways (SGX3) in the US, The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) and its platforms in Australia, and the projects around Virtual Research Environments in Europe. A few mature frameworks have evolved with their different strengths and foci and have been taken up by a larger community such as the Globus Data Portal, Hubzero, Tapis, and Galaxy. However, even when gateways are built on successful frameworks, they continue to face the challenges of ongoing maintenance costs and how to meet the ever-expanding needs of the community they serve with enhanced features. It is not uncommon that gateways with compelling use cases are nonetheless unable to get past the prototype phase and become a full production service, or if they do, they don't survive more than a couple of years. While there is no guaranteed pathway to success, it seems likely that for any gateway there is a need for a strong community and/or solid funding streams to create and sustain its success. With over twenty years of examples to draw from, this presentation goes into detail for ten factors common to successful and enduring gateways that effectively serve as best practices for any new or developing gateway.

11. Data management in government agencies
can quickly become overwhelming.
You may have software and systems in place, but getting them to accomplish all
your data integration needs seamlessly may leave you feeling much to be desired.
12. Data Integration Defined
Departments of Transportation (DOTs) and Departments of Public Works (DPWs) have
lots of different kinds of data and multiple data management systems.
Data integration combines various data types and formats into a single location –
commonly referred to as a data warehouse.

27. Customer Story
Arizona DOT Data Visualization
Project
Make road network data more usable for the agency, internal and external
customers.
Solution
Integrate their linear referencing system with spatial and non-spatial
datasets, orchestrate workflows, and enable data visualization and
discovery.
Results
● Improved data processes while respecting silos.
● Made authoritative data accessible via dashboards for improved
decision-making and planning.
● Increased confidence in data with automated quality control.
29. Project
Provide road conditions and plow information to the public.
Solution
Use FME to integrate plow locations, plow cams, and road conditions.
Results
● Data is retrieved 1x/min from AWS to populate Oracle database.
● FME automatically delivers a KML file to Windows Azure for AGOL.
● API delivers the data to local TV stations for their on-air software.
IOWA DOT
CUSTOMER STORY
“FME is the cherry on top the ice cream sundae that helps bring data
together and customize it for your needs.”

31. Customer Story
Project
Implement e-Ticketing for asphalt materials data to streamline inspection, enhance
safety, and improve project administration.
Solution
Create a system to enable materials suppliers to send information in real time,
automatically integrate ticket data into an enterprise geodatabase, and allow
inspectors to access ticket information on mobile devices.
Results
● Implemented a statewide e-Ticketing system.
● Digitized workflows standardized the collection and sharing of materials data
for efficient project coordination, documentation, and billing.
● Reduced ticket processing time by almost 80% with substantial cost savings.
● Looking to implement e-Ticketing for more construction materials and assets.
