Meet MaxGrip!
32
The complexities of modern industry present many challenges
to asset owners and managers. Traditionally we tend to reward
people who solve problems reactively. In MaxGrip’s view, we
should also appreciate the value of preventing problems before
they occur. We dare to envision a world in which accidents due
to asset failure simply do not happen.
At MaxGrip, we see it as our business to make the world
a safer place by preventing asset-related incidents and
accidents. We are determined to close the gap between our
clients’ business management and risk management. We want
to enable our clients to foresee the unforeseen.
The reliability and safety of industrial assets directly impacts
long-term financial results. Many companies can greatly
benefit from rethinking their approach to asset management,
adopting a new mindset, and embedding a culture of
prevention. Time and again, we have seen clients make huge
progress after committing to this positive change.
Founded in 1997 in the Netherlands, MaxGrip has always
focused on the working procedures of maintenance
and reliability engineers. Our client base and activities
have expanded fast ever since. With over 200 seasoned
professionals delivering APM and IT services, today we turn
around entire organisations and create value for clients in a
wide range of industries around the world.
As one of the world’s front runners in Asset
Performance Management (APM), MaxGrip
analyses risks and optimizes maintenance.
With our services and software, we deliver
the insights needed to gain full control
over industrial assets. With common
sense, technical know-how and global best
practices, we deliver game-changing results.
MaxGrip is all about reducing
complexity and gaining control.
We always aim for simple,
smart and practical solutions.”

The challenges our clients face
Our clients manage a wide variety of capital-
intensive assets, ranging from refineries,
chemical plants, drilling platforms and
tank terminals to bridges and shipping
locks, wastewater treatment plants, cookie
factories and hospitals. Each industry
and organisation has its own history,
maintenance routines and specific set of
challenges. The one thing they all have in
common is the need for control.
MaxGrip is committed to control. We help our clients to
master:
ASSET RISKS:
Gaining insight into asset risks is the first step towards
mitigating or eliminating them. It is the only way to prevent
unacceptable failures and incidents, achieve 100 percent
compliance and asset integrity, and develop the best
maintenance strategies.
ASSET COSTS:
Managing asset costs by finding the right balance between
CAPEX and OPEX with the help our services and software.
Accurate asset data are the basis for sound investment
decisions and maintenance optimization strategies.
ASSET PERFORMANCE:
Achieving high performance at low costs demands accurate
performance data. Detailed knowledge of failure causes and
life cycle expectancies creates opportunities to improve safety,
increase revenues, and decrease costs.
DATA INTEGRITY:
Consistently delivering the best possible results depends
on the integrity of asset data, which have to be constantly
updated to reflect every change and keep operations safe
and reliable. Accurate data are the foundation for the right
decisions.
EAM SYSTEM:
Making the most of the EAM system enables real-time
business analytics to support strategies and decisions. With
EAM as the engine of the maintenance organisation, and data
as the fuel, skilled people are needed in the driving seat.
THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS:
Making the right connections between all systems and the
people who work with them is crucial for effective Asset
Performance Management. Connecting all the dots in a logical
and timely fashion strengthens the human factor in terms of
safety and overall performance.
We believe in a world
where asset related
incidents and accidents
need not happen.”
76
We understand the complex challenges
faced by asset-intensive organisations.
With our services and integrated software,
we provide smart solutions and help
our clients to implement strategic asset
management and achieve long-term
benefits. With a 20-year track record in
APM, we know that high asset safety and
reliability are crucial competitive
advantages in today’s markets.
With our clients’ business objectives as the starting point, we
enable sound decision-making and continuous operational
improvement. We create business agility and efficiency
by establishing the right foundation with robust data
management. We then build on it with thorough analysis,
optimized maintenance procedures and tailor-made daily work
processes.
SMART SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS
Our strEAM+ software delivers cost-efficiency and
considerable time savings in the process that leads to
optimum maintenance strategies and continuous performance
improvement.
Our Optimizer+ software is a modular add-on to EAM

How we help clients to excel

A few client cases
Over the past decades, working
for many clients in a wide range of
industries has brought MaxGrip a
leadership role in Asset Performance
Management. A few summarized client
cases, more of which can be found
on our website, serve to demonstrate
what we do and why that matters to
clients.
GLOBAL MAINTENANCE BLUEPRINT
MaxGrip developed a strategic maintenance blueprint for
one of the world’s largest beer brewers and a deployment
model for the global roll-out. Aiming for full utilisation
of the global EAM system required an extensive review
and optimization of all Asset Performance Management
business processes.
A big challenge for the company is to expand market shares
by improving cost efficiency. Maintenance maturity is one
of the highest priorities. Because of the many acquisitions
in upcoming markets, it is essential to have global business
processes and data standards. MaxGrip was already familiar
with the brewer, and with adding value through strategic
improvements.
We helped by:
• Reviewing and optimizing existing maintenance
standards and work processes
• Aligning maintenance practices and IT systems with
business strategies
• Transforming the EAM system to a world-class
maintenance support system
• Managing change and creating a support base through
validation sessions
• Ensuring full utilization of the new global EAM system
• Improving business processes to control complex cross-
border supply chains
FULL CONTROL OVER RELIABILITY,
COMPLIANCE, AND COST
By offering smart combinations of software and services as
integrated solutions, MaxGrip provided a large LNG import
terminal in the Netherlands with a cost-effective method
to analyze risks and secure both reliability and safety
compliance.
Compliance with all legislation has to be combined with
maximum reliability and consistently high quality, all at
the lowest possible cost. This challenge is being met with
the help of strEAM+, MaxGrip’s software solution that
seamlessly integrates Reliability Centered Maintenance
(RCM) into EAM system Maximo.
MaxGrip has an impressive track record in the Oil & Gas
industry. We helped by:
• Completing the new Asset Register and analyzing all
critical components
• Securing regulatory compliance and asset reliability
• Preparing for Risk Based Inspection (RBI)
• Developing preventive maintenance and inspection plans
• Providing project management and intensive training
sessions for all users
• Ensuring that all processes remain safe and operational
24/7
STANDARDISED ASSET
MANAGEMENT
A large German oil and gas producer is expanding its global
asset base and activities. The company is looking for a
standardised approach to asset management and risk
mitigation. After all, while it may be impossible to prevent
all incidents, a lot can be done to prevent escalation into
accidents.
As a fast-growing global player with local operations in very
different places, the company needs to know and show that
all of its assets are safe and sound. Risk-based maintenance
and a uniform, data-driven approach to asset management
will start a process of standardization and help solve issues
such as knowledge retention. MaxGrip has the experience
to quickly develop an asset management framework. We
helped by:
• Introducing a standardised approach to risk analysis and
mitigation
• Organising knowledge sessions to generate insight and
understanding
• Defining new Performance Standards en Schemes of
Examination
• Using Optimizer+ and its Oil & Gas library to analyse risks
and maintenance measures
• Focusing on the real criticalities in terms of safety and
reliability, costs and spares
• Laying the foundations for global asset management
