The Matses tribe in the Brazilian and Peruvian rainforests is declining due to diseases like malaria and hepatitis contracted from mosquitoes, as well as encroachment by oil companies. To help the Matses, the document proposes raising money through bake sales and car washes to buy medicine, convincing the Peruvian government to provide malaria vaccinations and basic healthcare, and addressing the issues causing the Matses and their culture to be destroyed if no action is taken soon.

6. In the Brazilian and Peruvian rainforests there are tribes of people called the matses and they are declining day by day.

7. Why are they declining? They are declining because they are getting the deadly diseases called malaria and hepatitis.

8. How can we help??? We can help to find cures and raising money to buy medicine for them to get better. We will raise money by having bake sales, car washes, and food drives.

9. How we will help continued…. We will convince the Peruvian government of health to give the Matses malaria vaccinations. And we will get them basic health care so things such as vaccinations will be provided to the Matses.

10. If we don’t act soon the Matses and their culture will be destroyed…

11. Why are they getting these diseases?? They are getting the diseases from mosquitoes and getting hepatitis and other diseases.
