Option data suggests the market sees resistance at 6,200 and support at 5,800. NMDC and Titan saw increased open interest despite falling prices and are recommended for purchase. IGL and Tata Chemicals saw decreased open interest while prices rose and are recommended for sale.

The National Stock Exchange's 50-share
Nifty index ended above key 6,000 levels for
the first time in 2-year on hopes of global
growth recovery coupled with optimism the
Reserve Bank of India may cut lending rates
in January monetary policy.
The Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex
index rose 38.66 points to provisionally end
at 19,752.90 while the National Stock
Exchange's Nifty-50 index gained 11.75
points and ended at 6,005.40 provisionally.
The weakness in rupee gave a reason to
smile to IT stocks and they surged by over a
percent for the day. Infosys rose 1.24
percent, while Tata Consultancy Services
gained 1.37 percent. Software services
exporters will start reporting October-
December earnings results next week.
Shares of Jet Airways climbed 5% after
company clarified that Jet and Etihad are in
a discussion regarding a potential
investment.

The option data suggests that the market participants are currently
visualizing the 6200 mark on the higher side. Very high CALL writing at
6200 Strike price will stop market to move beyond 6200 mark. On the other
side we can see equal PUT writings on 5800 to 5700 strike price. This
indicates that NIFTY down move would be restricted below 5800 mark. Last
session’s option data indicated that NIFTY can have a range of 5800 and
6200 in near term.
