At Marina Platforms Co. college students are provided with a hands-on learning
experience giving an accurate view into the field of engineering design. The Co-op
student provides engineers with assistance on design projects. In return, engineers will
provide each student with the training and education needed for working in the
engineering industry.
Working at Marina Platforms allows the student to apply their classroom techniques
and theories to real world and engineering design projects.
Assigned tasks
• Creating models of lightweight and structurally efficient designs.
• Utilize AutoCAD drafting for mechanical design.
• Structural analysis and weight analysis using SolidWorks software.
• Drawing package generation, data processing, generate final output to specific
formats for delivery.
• Work collaboratively with other engineers as well as representatives from
Manufacturing, Quality, Drafting, and other complimentary disciplines.
2. • Attending weekly operations and production meetings to help in disseminating
pertinent information to staff discussing challenges with upcoming performances.
• Assist on developing and recommending safety and occupational health policy to
higher levels of management.
• Designing project labour utilization, projecting the needed construction materials,
equipment, delivery schedules and adhering to maintenance schedules.
• Assist on designing workplaces, processes, products for quality control
inspection, testing and modification to all systems to control or eliminate hazards
as per safety standards and engineering principles.
• Assist on planning, assigning and reviewing the work of all workers involved in
production.
• Make sure that everything from raw materials to finished products meets quality
and safety standards specified in the workshop drawings.
• Coordinating with Senior Engineers for the specific project information and
organizational chart to determine workers’ functionalities and responsibilities to
minimize duplication of work.
