Most old employee are excellent workers.
However some of them lose their sparks
by:
โข Allowing their expertise to become
obsolete
โข Being unwilling to learn new skills
โข Adjust poorly to organisational and
procedural changes
4. Tips on how to manage old
employees.
โข Acknowledge their experience by seeking
for their advice.
โข Involve them in orienting new employees
or in providing on the job training but
select carefully who does it and what
the new employee should be oriented
on. Otherwise, new employee may
become frustrated at the beginning.

โข Discuss openly with them a need for
change, get them involved as change
agents and give them training where
necessary.
โข Counsel those who are unwilling to
change.
โข Where possible, modify their work
schedules.
