This document provides instructions for making two different tessellating shapes. For Shape A, start with a square or rectangle and cut out a shape from one side, then tape it to the opposite side to create a repeating pattern when tiles are placed together. For Shape B, cut a tile in half, tape the pieces together, then cut and rearrange the pieces to make a shape that tiles can be placed side by side without gaps.

2. Shape A Start with a square or rectangle. Cut a shape form one side of a tile, tape it on the opposite side directly across from the cut out.

3. Cut the shape in half, then tape them opposite each other. This is your tessellating shape.

5. Shape B Cut a paper tile in half in the desired shape and tape one side to the other.

6. Cut the newly made shape in half again in the desired way.

7. Take the top two pieces and move them below the bottom two pieces. Align and tape with the corners matching. This is your tessellating shape.
