GDELT data provides opportunities for understanding conflicts but also has limitations. It is based on interpretations of events but presents the data in an objective way without allowing for further interpretation. A proposed tool called GDELT Explorer would allow users to explore the data through their own determined relationships and questions rather than predetermined analyses. It would help users understand actors, events, and their connections in conflicts by allowing them to create narratives from the data.
