   Our strength to deliver solutions in greening and permaculture projects
    and initiatives is backed by years of experience.
   Joe has been involved in numerous greening initiatives, food security,
    community development and training across South Africa and SADC
    region.
   He is one of the most experienced permaculture specialists and
    community developer in the country.
   The company has been providing skills development training and
    capacity building on food security to subsistence farmers, community
    developers, school learners, educators and historically disadvantaged
    communities.
   Make Africa Green understands the delicacy balance of human

       Skills development
    ◦    Make Africa Green facilitates skills development and knowledge transfer by
         providing food security and permaculture training programmes to
         beneficiaries mainly being, learners, youth and women in communities.
    ◦    The training programmes covers:
          Environmental management education and awareness
          Waste management and provision of appropriate technologies
          Sustainable food production methods
          Basic food security and gardens business management skills
          Container and rooftop gardening
       Facilitate orchards development
    ◦       Make Africa Green assists start-ups co-operatives in semi-urban and rural
            settlements especially in schools and communities develop orchards. This
            service focuses primarily on the development of fruit trees both exotic and
            indigenous.
    ◦       While food security remains the pivot of service, it also attempts to get
            communities into creating their own employment rather than waiting on
            Government for hand-outs. It is particularly useful for land claimants as it
            prepares them to have skills of managing their own land and being
            productive on the land they would have claimed. The service covers practical
            training in the knowledge of indigenous and exotic fruit and non-exotic fruit
            trees.
    ◦       We also cover the following subject matters in the facilitation of this service;
              Site identification and analysis
              Fruit-tree cultivar and characteristics
              Water harvesting, conservation and management
              Tree planting and maintenance
              Plant care and management
   Re-forestation
   Make Africa Green’s focus on this service is exactly that, re-forest areas that are
    most de-forested. This service a programme called South African Re-forestation
    Programme (SARP).

   The SARP programme is designed for urban and rural greening activities such as
    greening schools, communities, churches and corporate parks.

   This includes restoration, rehabilitation and or reclamation of old mines,
    landscape design and recreational parks.

   LEARNERSHIP
    ◦ Make Africa Green delivers a comprehensive learner-ship programme in permaculture land
       design, environmental greening and food security programmes for youth and women. This
       provides the much needed development for entrepreneurship and job creation in the
       country. After completion of the programme learners can start their own businesses such
       as food gardens cooperatives, garden services or could be employed in landscaping and
       environmental consulting firms.

   Provision of all garden tools and equipment
   Installation of water infrastructures include:
     ◦ Irrigation systems, water tanks, connection and stands
     ◦ Supply of worm farm equipment/containers

   Plant materials
    ◦ Supply indigenous trees, fruit-trees, shrubs, vegetable seeds, seedlings, herbs, compost
       and mulch (big or standard bales)
    ◦ We also supply garden tools and equipment. This includes installation of water tanks,
       irrigation and gutters to harvest water runoff, conservation & management.
