The Makaton course offers participants an introduction to Makaton, including the learning of 30 signs and symbols. The interactive sessions are tailored for organizations at various stages and cover practical usage, with assessments and certificates provided upon completion. Courses can be held at client locations or designated training venues, accommodating up to 12 delegates per trainer.

Course Description:
The course enables participants to have a general insight into what Makaton is and who uses
it with the added opportunity to learn 30 signs and symbols too. This fun and interactive
session also provides the opportunity to discuss ideas on how you could use Makaton.
Courses can be designed for your individual organisation; stages include 1 – 9 with
functional use, being integrated throughout.
Course Outline:
On completion of the course, learners will have:
• Insight into what Makaton is
• How Makaton is used
• 30 signs and symbols, stages 1 and 2
Methods of delivery:
The trainer facilities the learning while encouraging learners own contributions and
perspectives.
A fun and interactive course.

Level 1-2 - 1/2 day

Level 5-6 - 1 day
Level 7-8 - 1 day
Level 9 - 1 day
Assessment:
The trainer will carry out an on-going assessment during the course
Certification:
All delegates will receive a certificate of attendance
