This is the image we have choose
for our magazine cover:

We first saturated all of the
colour out of the image, and
increased the contrast to make
the black and white colours more
bolder.
We then used the blur tool all
over the photo to blur out all
details from the photo.
We then found the exact
font of the Empire magazine
title, which is on all of the
Empire magazine covers.

We then pasted it onto a separate
layer, placed it above the image.
We then created another layer,
and pasted the original photo
onto of it, this is to make the
characters 3d from the
background.

Be cause we added the characters
on top, we then had to blur the
edges of the people, but also alter
the appearance of the characters to
make them more suitable for the
front cover.
We then touched up the
outfit of the character in
front to make the clothing
look less recognizable, and
to take attention away from
the clothes.

Before:

After:
Next we started to add the
finer details to the
magazine, such as the issue
date, and the price.
After that the rest of the
magazine was simply adding
the tag lines and featuring
articles.
The development of the
magazine was simply adding
more and more text around the
page to make it more
appealing, and to attract
different audiences.
We then added a box, to and
the title of the magazine. The
point of the box was to attract
more attention to the title, but
also to add more red to the
colour scheme of the
magazine cover.
We then added the
barcode to the corner of
the magazine, and added
a cover line to the title of
the text, along with a
white border to the box to
make it stand out from the
rest of the text.
The last touches
we added to the
magazine were
removing the
sub title How
was your 2013
this was because
we it wasn’t
related to the
genre of the
magazine cover.
We finally added
the last touches
of text to the
magazine.
To finish of the magazine
we changed the title of
the tagline to 50 scariest
horrors of all time to
attract the right audience
for the genre of film.
