Minmahaw School is a boarding school located in Mae Sot, Thailand that provides education to disadvantaged Burmese students ages 17 to 23. Jenny Thomas volunteered at the school on two occasions and was an exemplary staff member. She was punctual, diligent, caring, cooperative with her peers and students. As a teacher, Jenny used creative and enthusiastic approaches that engaged students and resulted in positive responses. The principal recommends Jenny for employment or further study, especially those involving schools, youth work, or tasks requiring strong interpersonal skills.

To whom it may concern
Jenny Thomas worked as a volunteer on two separate occasions at Minmahaw School, a Boarding
School for 17 to 23 year old disadvantaged Burmese. Minmahaw School is in the Thai town of
Mae Sot on the Thai/ Myanmar border,
Jenny was an exemplary member of staff – all of whom are volunteers. She was punctual,
diligent, caring and cooperative with her peers and all students. She is a very enthusiastic and
creative lady who is highly organised and was liked and respected by everyone involved with
Minmahaw School and Mae Sot community. Many of her ideas were adopted by other teachers.
Her willingness to take on new or ‘fill in’ classes, often at the last minute, and not necessarily in
her preferred subjects, was one special quality appreciated by school executive.
Teaching English to students from different language, cultural and socio economic backgrounds
requires special skills. Jenny’s enthusiastic and creative approach resulted in students
responding positively.
I have no hesitation in recommending her for employment or further study - especially if
relating to schools, youth work or any tasks requiring high levels of interpersonal interactions.
