3. My name is Annie Seigler. I have lived in Raleigh, North Carolina
for my entire life and attended Broughton High School just down
the road from NCSU. My love for the city of Raleigh and the draw
of the prestigious Poole College of Management were both
major deciding factors in my choice to attend NCSU.
4. In high school, I rode horses and was the
president of the 4H club at my barn. Riding and
teaching beginner riding lessons was a big part
of my teenage years and my development as a
person. I was also involved in FCCLA at
Broughton and my church’s youth group. I am
truly grateful to have grown up with a
supportive family and surrounded by people and
places that made my teenage years very positive
ones.

6. My choice to attend NCSU mainly focused around
my intent to study Business, especially in an
affluent area with abundant opportunities for
internships and real life experience. I would love to
one day have my own business that relates to
horses, possibly investing in buying and selling
grand prix jumpers and high level hunters.
Moreover, I loved the creative and enthusiastic
atmosphere created by students, professors, and
staff. From the day that I toured NCSU in the
eleventh grade, I knew it was the school for me.
7. One thing that truly sets me apart from other students is my passion
for horseback riding. Equestrianism is not a sport that many students
choose to pursue. I have ridden hunt seat since I was only seven
years old, and my love and enthusiasm for the sport has yet to wear
off. I truly believe that the dedication, discipline, and perseverance
that I have learned from riding horses has shaped me into the person
that I am today. I am continuing to ride three times a week while at
State.

10. The hardest thing for me in my first semester at
State is managing my time well. Between
classes, homework, riding, babysitting part time,
and getting involved in clubs, I have a lot on my
plate. I am nervous that I won’t be able to invest
my time and energy well in all of my endeavors.
However, it is very exciting to me that I am in an
environment where I can immerse myself in so
many things and meet so many new people that
I hardly have the time for it!
