The New York Times Company built a new 52-story headquarters in Manhattan with large windows and glass walls. To reduce energy usage given the amount of glass, they tested various lighting solutions from Lutron for 6 months. Lutron's Quantum lighting control system was selected as it allows automatic adjustment of lighting based on daylight, occupant presence, and schedules. After one year of use, the Quantum system achieved a 72% reduction in lighting energy usage and a 1% increase in employee productivity.
