Role of pleural fluid adenosine deaminase in aetiological diagnos
This study evaluated the diagnostic value of measuring adenosine deaminase (ADA) levels in the pleural fluid of 50 patients with pleural effusions. The results showed that ADA levels were above 36 IU/L in all 41 patients diagnosed with tuberculosis. In the 8 patients diagnosed with malignancy, ADA levels were above 18.5 IU/L.
