Delaunes Cajun Foods discovered the ECONOSEAL Spartan cartoner at the Pack Expo trade show in 1986 as a way to reduce their packaging costs from using 10 employees; the manual cartoner helped increase production while reducing the packaging operation by eight people. In 1993, the company was renamed Louisiana Food and Packaging and began contracting packaging for other companies. They purchased a second automated Spartan cartoner in 1996 to keep up with increased demand from four client companies. The machines continue to reliably package six products that are sold nationwide, with over 20 years of support from ECONOCORP.

Delaunes Cajun Foods first supplied its Cajun dinner mixes in stapled and labeled pouches. In 1986, customers demanded an improved retail appearance or a bag in a box format, which increased the orders for this high
quality product. In response to the increased demand, the company used as many as 10 people to do the packaging of bags into cartons. In an effort to reduce their cost of packaging, they visited the Pack Expo trade show
in Chicago to find a simple and economical cartoning automation solution. It was here that they discovered the
ECONOSEAL Spartan cantoner as the perfect solution for their packaging requirements. Shortly after receiving
the manual load Spartan cartoner, Delaunes was able to considerably increase their production of product while
reducing their packaging operation by eight people.
In 1993, Fred Bourgouis renamed the company to Louisiana Food and Packaging. In conjunction with the name
change, the company began to also contract package dinner mixes for other customers. In 1996, the company
joined forces with Louisiana Gourmet and began to do all of their packaging for a total of four companies at
Louisiana Gourmet. They also had the need to purchase a second Spartan cartoner with an automatic product loading accessory to keep up with the product demand. The original 20 year old manually loaded cartoner
produces 1200 cartons per hour and the newer, more automated Spartan output exceeds 2,100 finished cartons
per hour. Each machine runs three different carton sizes and the total of six different products are currently sold
across the country.

2. David Gilmer, the Operations Manager, speaks highly of
the twenty plus year support that ECONOCORP provides.
