I am writing to recommend Thomas J. Horrego for a position at your firm. I had the pleasure of working
with Thomas last semester in BUS360-A Operations & Supply Chain Management.
Thomas maintained a consistently high level of concentration, focus, and energy, which many students
find difficult during evening classes for two and a half hours. He participated in class activities and
interacted well with classmates during open discussions expressing his thoughts and opinions clearly and
respectfully. He submitted quality work, and contacted me regularly to clarify expectations and to
reinforce comprehension.
Thomas took a lead role organizing a semester-long group project. He has a quiet leadership style, but it
was evident over time that he was working behind the scenes to keep the team on point and on time. I
was also impressed by Thomas’ desire to learn as much as possible during the course. In one example,
Thomas received a good grade on a written assignment and responded to my suggestions to improve his
writing skills by asking if I would be willing to review a subsequent draft, not for extra credit, but for
personal enrichment.
Thomas is personable, works hard, welcomes coaching, and is prepared for this opportunity. I am
confident that Thomas will provide value to your firm and I welcome the opportunity to discuss his
candidacy further if needed.
