As the Country Procurement & Subcontracts Manager for Contrack International, Inc. ANSF
Operations & Maintenance Project in Kabul Afghanistan it gives me great pleasure to write this
letter of recommendation on behalf of Mr. Pieter Steenekamp.
Mr. Steenekamp is an integral part of our team and has proven an above average capability and
skills to get the job done. He has demonstrated the ability to handle multiple tasks at the same
time in dangerous situations and still maintain the attention to detail that is required to keep all
parties protected. Mr. Steenekamp is an innovative self-starter and one who exceeds expectations
and manages stress well. He has gone above and beyond what is required of his daily tasks with
enthusiasm and the highest level of ethics and business acumen.
Since his arrival at our Kabul Project Management Office Mr. Steenekamp has proven to be
invaluable as the Country Security Manager. As the Country Security Manager it is his
responsibility for the operational security of over 250 sites and over 2000 employees in
Afghanistan. Due the high level of threat against Expatriates it is his duty to manage the safety
and security of all personnel. As the primary point of contact for all security issues he had
maintain awareness of the security environment at all Afghanistan offices, implement and
enforce security procedures, review physical security guidelines, protocols, and emergency plans
on an ongoing basis and updates them where necessary. He provided on-going security training
and refresher courses on all aspects of security protocols to include the oversight of all
subcontractors. His efforts thus far have been invaluable.
The experience and dedication he brings to this project is unwavering. He has befriended many
both inside the work place and out.
His service to any other company will be beneficial to the mission. I highly recommend Mr.
Steenekamp for his work ethic, knowledge and willingness to get the job done in any condition.
