The USG methodology follows a "Say-Show-Do" approach for coaching games. Coaches first introduce the game to set the stage. Second, they demonstrate expectations by showing how to correctly perform skills. Third, the kids try the game to explore it and get involved. Lastly, coaches introduce progressions and competition to further develop skills and gameplay. The goal is to promote learning, safety and fun.

an environment that promotes
learning, safety and fun.
• When delivering a game, you should
follow the USG Standard.
• First you will introduce the game- Get
into the story telling and set the stage
for the lesson.
• Second you will demo your expectations
of the game- For example if the children
are performing a drag back, demonstrate
how to correctly perform the skill.
• Third step is allowing the kids to try
the game. Let them explore the game and
get involved.
• Lastly introduce progressions
and competition points to add skill and
game play development to the activities.
