ADJUSTABLE VOLTAGE SOURCE
An adjustable voltage source converts alternating current to direct
current.
Next we are going to present a diagram of an adjustable voltage source.
The elements that make up the circuit are:
• voltage transformer
• 4 diodes
• 2 electrolytic capacitors
• integrated LM317
• 1 capacitor
• 2 resistors
LM 317
The transformer feeds the diode bridge with eighteen volts and these charge the
electrolytic capacitor that feeds the integrated circuit LM317, then the voltage
that comes out of its output is reduced by two resistors connected in series to
the output and the adjustment of the integrated and the voltage resulting charge
the capacitors and they send it to the output.
COMPONENTS
• Transformer: they are used to vary the voltage values of an alternating current
circuit, maintaining its power.
• Transistor: allow proper transfer of electrical energy between different parts of
an electrical circuit.
• Diodes: it allows current to flow in one direction, but does not allow current to
flow in the opposite direction.
• Resistor: alter or modify the passage of the current and in other cases to
generate heat.
• Integrated: simplify an electrical function.
Thank you
