Presentatie van Elizabeth Currid bij Creative Cities Amsterdam Area (CCAA). Haar boek The Warhol Economy omvat een onderzoek naar de schijnbaar toevallige samenloop van omstandigheden in de creatieve industrie in New York die tot briljante samenwerking leidde (zoals Stephen Sprouse voor Louis Vuitton).
Mike Murawski, Director of Education & Public Programs for the Portland Art Museum, and Founding Editor of ArtMuseumTeaching.com gave this presentation at MuseumNext New York on 15 November 2016.
In it Mike asked how we can start an empathy revolution in museums? How can we more fiercely recognize the meaningful work that museum professionals are doing to enact change around the relevant issues in our communities? How do we radically expand the work of museums in bringing people together and contributing to strong, resilient communities?
Questions like these seem increasingly vital for museums, especially in this time of polarized political discourse and highly-charged social debates.

Most communities agree that public art adds value to a community, but how do you encourage the arts to really flourish in a community? Digital Commerce Lecture for Advanced Digital & Social Media Strategy at UCLA...Valters Lauzums
E-commerce in 2024 is characterized by a dynamic blend of opportunities and significant challenges. Supply chain disruptions and inventory shortages are critical issues, leading to increased shipping delays and rising costs, which impact timely delivery and squeeze profit margins. Efficient logistics management is essential, yet it is often hampered by these external factors. Payment processing, while needing to ensure security and user convenience, grapples with preventing fraud and integrating diverse payment methods, adding another layer of complexity. Furthermore, fulfillment operations require a streamlined approach to handle volume spikes and maintain accuracy in order picking, packing, and shipping, all while meeting customers' heightened expectations for faster delivery times.
Amid these operational challenges, customer data has emerged as an important strategy. By focusing on personalization and enhancing customer experience from historical behavior, businesses can deliver improved website and brand experienced, better product recommendations, optimal promotions, and content to meet individual preferences. Better data analytics can also help in effectively creating marketing campaigns, improving customer retention, and driving product development and inventory management.
Innovative formats such as social commerce and live shopping are beginning to impact the digital commerce landscape, offering new ways to engage with customers and drive sales, and may provide opportunity for brands that have been priced out or seen a downturn with post-pandemic shopping behavior. Social commerce integrates shopping experiences directly into social media platforms, tapping into the massive user bases of these networks to increase reach and engagement. Live shopping, on the other hand, combines entertainment and real-time interaction, providing a dynamic platform for showcasing products and encouraging immediate purchases. These innovations not only enhance customer engagement but also provide valuable data for businesses to refine their strategies and deliver superior shopping experiences.
The e-commerce sector is evolving rapidly, and businesses that effectively manage operational challenges and implement innovative strategies are best positioned for long-term success.

Living Walls Atlanta Client Research
1. Jessie Nichols
Client Research
Background
Living Walls Atlanta was founded in November of 2009 by Monica Campana and Blacki
Li Rudi Migliozzi and is a small nonprofit organization. The idea behind Living Walls is to bring
together a small subset of the population, such as graffiti writers, street artists, etc., all under one
roof. Individuals who interact with space and spend their time in discourse about public space.
The intentions of Livings Walls is “simply to broadcast to the attendees a wide spectrum of ideas
about public space, hoping that everyone leaves the event looking at the city, its walls, and how
we interact with space differently.”
Work
Living Walls began as a project to bring life to neglected public spaces around Atlanta.
“Living Walls creates intentional, thought-provoking public art to inspire social change and
activate public spaces” (LivingWallsAtl.com). This mission has not changed much over the eight
years of operating in Atlanta, however, the work they set out to do is constantly evolving to
adapt to the everchanging social landscape on our city. Their objective is to create and maintain a
constant dialogue among communities about their communities.
“Living Walls has facilitated over 100 public murals featured throughout the
metropolitan area, created through citywide conferences attended by 5,000 art enthusiasts
annually” (Livingwallsatl.com). They have world-renowned local and international artists
working with them along with collaborative projects in Miami, South Africa, Rome, Barcelona,
2. and Moscow. “Living Walls connects public art to urban development, helping to establish
Atlanta as a destination for provocative arts and culture.”
Because of their impact in Atlanta and their spot as one of the leading organizations of
mural production in the world, companies like Google and Mailchimp have asked Living Walls
to bring their art into their private office spaces. “Our curatorial vision and experience encourage
partnerships with cultural institutions and provide opportunities to work with corporate clients to
create curated exhibitions in their spaces. Some of our cultural partnerships include: the National
Center for Civil and Human Rights in Atlanta and The Artmossphere International Biennale of
Street Art in Moscow” (Livingwallsatl.com).
News of the Nonprofit
Living Walls was featured on Atlanta.net website as it describes five reasons to visit the
Living Walls. These reasons include: 1. Living Walls encourages all of us to appreciate the
beauty that art can bring – even if it’s not hanging in a museum. 2. The Living Walls Conference
has expanded into yearlong programming, with "Concepts." Each Concept will focus on one or
two artists at a time and lasts one to three weeks to allow artists to immerse themselves within
the neighborhoods. 3. The conference started out as a way to highlight problems facing the city
and ended up building a platform for dialogue. 4. The street art of Living Walls brightens up
otherwise dull and ugly portions of the city. 5. Chasing street art takes you to places in Atlanta
you might not otherwise find (Atlanta.net).
The Executive Director of Living Walls, Monica Campana talks with Michelle Khouri(?)
on The Cultured Podcast about the history and purpose of street art and dig into the political and
emotional roots behind the genre.
3. Living Walls also has a Facebook, Twitter and Instagram promoting their artists and their
work. They post pictures of their events and murals with each artist tagged so you can view their
personal work as well.
Competitors
As far as competitors goes, there is not another organization like them. I guess museums
and other art shows in Atlanta could be competitors. They have over 50 artists from around the
country and world that paint for them.
Info on the Area of Focus
The artists have the opportunity to converse and interact with different communities
around the city and create work that will represent the diverse cultures that make this city so
beautiful. Some of the fields of topic include social equality, feminism, immigrants’ rights,
LGBTQ rights and Cultural Diversity.
Strengths:
They are widely known around the world
They have world-renowned artists which draws more attention
They stand up for important causes and speak for those who cannot
They create beautiful work and brighten up dull parts of the city
Weaknesses
They aren’t as popular as they probably want to be (I didn’t know about them until
researching)
4. They haven’t held an event since September of 2016 so they need more interactive events
to spread awareness
Opportunities:
The organization could hold more events and promote their partnerships with the cultural
centers
Threats:
Another organization with opposing views could paint in the same areas
