Literature 2 is a course that provides students the opportunity to learn about and enjoy notable literary texts from different periods including Ancient, Classical, Medieval, Renaissance, Neo-Classical, Romantic, Realism and Naturalism, Modern, and Contemporary literature. The course enables students to learn about distinguished authors like Ovid, Sappho, Sophocles, Dante, Martin Luther, William Shakespeare, Petrarch, Cervantes, Machiavelli, and Alexander Pope and see how literature is closely tied to the development of civilization and the birth and evolution of ideas through examples of Humanism, Order & Piety, Dharma & Enlightenment, Early Christianity, and the New Testament.
