This document discusses building an app for customers aged 14-21 who are addicted to talking with friends and want simple, personal voice sharing. The app would allow users to easily share their voice with friends in a simple, personal way of communication. The document poses an open question about how to achieve this goal of simple voice sharing and personal communication.
Multimedia streaming over Mobile Ad Hoc networks has been a very challenging issue due to the dynamic
behavior and uncertain nature of the channels. Transmission of real time video has bandwidth, delay and
loss requirements. However there are no Quality of Service (QoS) guarantees for video transmission in
today’s network. There are many challenging issues that need to be addressed in designing mechanisms for
video transmission, which include end-to-end Quality of Service, Bandwidth, Delay, Loss, Congestion, and
Heterogeneity. The Challenges of delivering Multi-media signals are even pronounced in Wireless
Networks (Mobile Ad Hoc Networks, Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) and Cellular Networks) which are heavily
bandwidth constrained and have no fixed infrastructures. In this Research we provide a theoretical model
for minimum buffer size as a means of achieving smoother, higher quality streaming video. This Research
presents a general optimal video smoothing algorithm based on the concept of dynamically controlled
Coefficient of Variance (CV), which is the ratio of standard deviation of the end-to-end delay and the
expected value of the delay for each ensemble of packets being transmitted through the network. The results
discuss how the size of the “receive buffer” is affected by the allocated bandwidth for each source-pair end
users for supporting video streaming applications without any gaps. The simulation performance show that
the dynamic client buffer size based on measured bandwidth variation achieves negligible jitter in the video
streaming which is subjectively acceptable.

The aim of the paper is to investigate maritime logistic processes, focusing on efficiency and coordination. The topic is timely because, in the European context, the EU Directive no. 2010/65/EU imposes the adoption of digital procedures concerning documents and information, in order to facilitate the relationships between all the actors of a port community system (PCS). From a theoretical viewpoint, we adopt the evolutionary economic approach, since it helps to understand the change processes due to its focus on organizational routines and their institutionalization. From a methodological viewpoint, we adopt a case-study approach, investigating the port of Salerno (south of Italy), which is involved in the “Smart Tunnel Project”, whose aim is to create a platform for intelligent logistic services. As a result, we provide a model that aims to replace the old inter- organizational routines with new more efficient ones, also improving the knowledge of the logistic processes through a facilitation of the exchange of documents and information between all the involved actors.

Hello everyone. I’m Ghassan Fadlallah, this is Jaleel Salhi, and this is Shane Dzierwa (zerr wa). Together we’re creating a mobile application called ListenUp that allows people to very easily record and share voice messages with their friends and family.
We believe the basic need for our application arises from the fact that voice messaging is merely an afterthought in most applications that utilizes it, really leaving room for an app to really exploit the sole avenue of voice sharing.
A good example of something that gets close to what we’re trying to do is voicemail, but with voicemail you have to wait until after a phone call ends to leave a voice message, and even then it’s not clear if the person on the other side heard your message.
(shane) 14-21, Addicted to talking to their friends: We always want to be in contact with our friends, whether its short video clips or images. Why aren’t we doing this through voice? The closest thing we have to this is the phone call, nothing dedicated to short digestible bites of audio.
(jaleel) Simple voice sharing: Audio sharing is muddled in other features, like we said, an afterthought in other applications. We’d like to be able to press a button and just send our voice. Every time we’ve looked for competition, it’s been embedded in a glob of features (avoid the pile like we said in class the other day). Yes, other apps DO it, but few, if any do it SIMPLY.
(gussan) Personal communications: Customers want an intermediary between texting and phone calls; if we get a text, it can come from anybody. Texts have such a flat tone to them, but if you were just able to add your own intonation, it takes it to a whole other level.
(jaleel) Recording capability is immediately visible and simple to use (low learning curve). What you want to send and who you want to send it to is right in front of you, and easy to modify at any point in the process.
THIS DESIGN IS SHITTY WERE NOT DONE IM SORRY
(shane) somehow make this slide at least slightly about personal communication, link it to the story
