AP Lead Teacher Chemistry - As the AP Lead teacher for chemistry I have the best of both worlds. I have
the opportunity to teach a class of AP Chemistry and work with twenty other AP Chemistry teachers across
the district. In this position I have the pleasure of visiting with teachers in their classrooms, answer specific
questions, teach content, model lessons, assist with laboratory and technology and be there for support as
needed. Organizing and often presenting at vertical team meetings, Saturday trainings for teachers and
Saturday Study Sessions for students is also an added bonus.

Chemistry Coordinator – Assisted in the development of the standard three-year teacher training program in
chemistry as well as several of the specialized training modules in science. Collaborated with science team
to develop the model and materials for the Train the Trainer events held each summer. Led professional
development trainings for teachers. Managed the national corps of science item writers for formative and
summative assessments grades 6-11 and developed formative and summative assessments for chemistry.
Aligned chemistry lessons to Common Core Standards in English and Mathematics as well as the Next
Generation Science Standards and AP Chemistry Curriculum Framework. Coordinated with members of the
science team to develop materials in partnership with Texas Instruments, PhET, PASCO and NASA.
Managed Texas science mentors for MSDF schools and mentored teachers as needed. Stayed abreast of
current research on successful classroom instructional models and college and career readiness standards
by attending and presenting at various conferences. Participated in the MET project using the UTOP
protocol for evaluating classroom teachers.
