What has your career been, so far?
Lionel Alloucherie: In 2001, the year I qualified with a diploma in Electronics, I got a job at
SPIE Nucléaire as an automation specialist, carrying out maintenance in power plants. Five
years later, I became testing manager, responsible for a small team of technicians. I was
then given a position in the Design office, where I assumed a number of increasingly specific
assignments before taking on my current position in 2015.
What is your role today?
L.A.: I have to assign 350 electricians, automation specialists and testers to SPIE Nucléaire
sites throughout France. I also have to ensure that the right people are in the right place at
the right time. In addition to scheduling, my job involves human resources management,
which includes developing the skills of the teams.
How did you move to a managerial position?
L.A.: My new job involved a change to a managerial position, which meant that I could
automatically take part in a specific process and be tutored by my immediate superior. He
gave me support in writing my research paper that I had to present orally to the Board of
Directors and encouraged me to carry out a benchmark, which is a method I had never used
before. Although the experience required a great amount of personal work, I’m very proud
and I learned a lot.
