This document provides a lighthearted guide to creating personas for design purposes. It recommends starting simply by drawing a basic picture of a person and making up basic details like their name, wants, and context. It then suggests supplementing this initial fiction with real data from website analytics, user profiles, and academic research to extrapolate behavior and personality trends. The key messages are that personas do not need to be perfectly accurate, instinct and confidence in one's design abilities are important, and personas are primarily used to help designers see from another perspective rather than to perfectly represent users.
The document discusses two types of tundra: Arctic and Alpine. Arctic tundra is a cold, treeless plain found in far northern regions around the Arctic Ocean, including parts of Europe, Asia, and North America. The document discusses the two types of tundra: Arctic and Alpine. Arctic tundra covers vast, treeless, cold, lowland plains in northern regions like Siberia, Alaska, Canada, and Greenland. This document is from Green Local School District Treasurer Eydie Snowberger, presenting information to the school board about state budget myths. It aims to show that the district will lose over $3 million in state and federal funding over the next two years. It also aims to convince voters to pass the district's levy issue on May 3rd, as the budget cuts mean the levy is still needed for the district to remain solvent. The document dispels myths that the district will gain new money or that a new state bill or delaying the levy vote will resolve the budget issues.
The United States imprisons more of its citizens than any other country, with 1 in 100 Americans incarcerated. However, not all crimes are treated equally, as black Americans are imprisoned at disproportionately high rates for drug crimes despite similar usage rates compared to white Americans. Additionally, prisons have taken on a "liminal" role beyond rehabilitation, becoming a means to systematically incarcerate and disenfranchise certain populations. There is a need for greater public discussion and awareness of the injustices and human costs of the current prison system and its impact on families and communities.
