1. Management of large-sized, acquired companies (involved throughout my career)
What makes my career unique is my deep involvement in the management of large-sized,
acquired companies in Europe and USA, which are culturally different and run by the local
management in a decentralized, empowered manner.
I have experienced through most of my career a wide-range of aspects in international
subsidiary management and strategic development, extending from the early period of
acquisition through recovery phase, growth phase, growth through M & A, and integration
phase. I have also been in these companies as expatriate, but most of the time in the head
office for the management, evaluation, strategic coordination and governance involving these
companies.
The companies are in a regionally-focused business and only a few people in the head office
were involved in dealing directly with the local management. I engaged myself through the
evolution of these subsidiaries on one hand, and also through the evolution of how the
headquarter had transformed its subsidiary management in terms of financial evaluation,
strategic evaluation and governance on the other hand, thus experiencing many different
phases and aspects in the international business management.
