2. Brian Lippey is a seasoned Executive with over twenty-
five years of exerience in global capital markets,
including fifteen years of experience building,
managing, marketing, and advising hedge funds and
alternative asset management firms. Successfully built
out multiple alternative investment businesses, both
independent and bank sponsored, and instrumental in
raising substantial assets at each fund. Extensive
international experience, particularly in Asia and
Japan. Skilled in business development, relationship
management, strategy, global marketing and
fundraising, sourcing and managing talent, and
product development.
3. Most recently Global Head of Marketing and Client
Management at Mount Kellett Capital, and recently
helped raise a new Private Equity fund focussed on
global distressed investments.
Previously President and Chief Operating Officer of
The Rohatyn Group (TRG), an Alternative Asset
Management firm focused on Global Emerging
Markets. As a founding Partner, he played a key role
in building the firm from start-up to a large global fund
with offices in New York, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
He had particular involvement in building the firm’s
reputation as a client-focused culture with integrated
investment processes and risk systems.
4. Brian Lippey was founder and CEO of Tokai Asia Ltd. (Hong
Kong) where he built from start-up a prominent internal multi-
strategy hedge fund active in the global equity, bond, and
currency markets. Mr. Lippey had overall responsibility for
P&L, risk capital allocation, investment strategies, risk
management, business development, and marketing
Lippey was Managing Director of Merrill Lynch & Co., based
in London, where he built and managed that firm’s Global
Foreign Exchange business, which included responsibility for
marketing to the firm’s worldwide institutional and private
investor network, including hedge funds.
Earlier in his career, he was Vice President of International
Fixed Income Sales at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York
and London, where he advised leading institutional investors
on investment strategies in global bond and currency
markets.
5. Brian is a Member of The Council on Foreign
Relations, The Hoover Council at Stanford
University, and The Asia Society. He has served as a
Board Member or Advisor to several industry and
educational institutions, including The Harvard
Business School Club of New York and Columbia
University’s School of International and Public
Affairs. Mr. Lippey is a graduate of Columbia
University and The Advanced Management Program
at Harvard Business School.
