Hello, my name is Andrew Skolnick and I have created a small presentation based on many of the things I have accomplished. As a business consultant, I believe in “Small Solutions, Big Ideas”
One of the many databases I have created is an Intake Database. This database captures demographic information related to the client.
The Intake database allows the user to select either a primary contact or shows them as a 2 nd Adult. This 2 nd Adult designation means they are related to another contact.
As you can see, the 2 nd Adult does not need the same amount of information entered and has been flagged with certain issues.
Another database that I designed was a custom database to collect contact information. However, the difficult part was importing the sources directly into our database.
Many times the data was not in a flat file to import. It sometimes looked like the following. Andrew Skolnick 17 Lake Marie Lane Bedford Hills, NY 10507 Phone: (914)937-4290 Mark Millman 85 Executive Place Field Wright, NJ 12345 Phone: (914)937-7902 Fax: (914)934-2501 Michael Gorbachez 20 Stonestepper Way Genovali, WI 9827 Phone: (914)322-4050 What do I do now?
By creating a flexi-grid, I was able to map out the fields, no matter what order. Even if each record had multiple lines. Even created the CSZ (City, State, and Zip) field so it would know to separate them. Flexi-Grid
The data would then be imported and fill in the appropriate fields. See what a little ingenuity can do!
One more database to show you. This database is designed to capture information related to insurance.
I don’t just create databases, I also build reports. And if you think that is not enough….
Many of the reports I generate can automatically get uploaded into Excel, CSV files or anything else you wish.
These are but a few of the databases I have designed. I have created educational databases, facility management databases, healthcare databases and many others, but that is not all I do.
I not only design databases, I am involved in all aspects of the business processes as well. I have worked with Quickbooks, entered journal entries in IRES, worked with personnel in ADP, and even created technical manuals.
I went to one employee to ask about work process and she said “ I thought you were just the computer guy!”
And that is the point. I have been involved in all facets of business operations. I have been an end-user, a programmer, a builder, a developer and a computer administrator. I have worked with low-level accountants, controllers, facility managers, and VP’s. I have closed General Ledgers, developed reports, done bank reconciliations and many other tasks.
Many people see this as unfocused, but like Stretch Armstrong © , I say “FLEXIBILITY IS GOOD!”
PS. I also do slide show presentations!
