Lilly the frog and her friend Fred the fish hear about new "people things" from Peter the pelican who says they are scary. The next morning, Lilly hears a loud rumbling and sees new large metal animals with four round legs that spit dark smoke and cloud the sky. People get out of the animals and have scary tools, causing all the pond friends to flee in fear. When the friends return, they discover things have changed.

Calvin Jia presents on using Alluxio to improve cloud computing architectures. Cloud architectures provide benefits like elastic scaling and pay-as-you-go pricing but suffer from lower data performance between compute and storage clusters. Alluxio can be deployed in compute clusters to provide memory-speed data access and transparent access to underlying storage systems. This remedies the performance issues and improves the affinity between compute and storage resources. Experiments show Alluxio significantly reducing job run times for Spark workflows.

- 6. and all their pond friends played happily under the clear blue sky. The next morning,
- 7. Lilly wokeup to a new sound. It was a loud rumbly sound. There werenew animals coming. They were big and metal and walked on four round legs.
- 8. Lilly didn’t like thesenew animals, theyspit dark smoke out of their backs and clouded up her clear blue sky. When the new animals stopped, the people thingsgot out! How weird

- 10. They didn’t look very friendly, and their tools were terryifying. Fred dove deep under the waterand all the pond friends ran away from thesenew creatures! When they cameback things had changed!
