 Strengthening communities by supporting men in transition from

members of society.
Understanding LIFT
 Love Initiates Faith & Truth Inc., as LIFT Inc., is a 501(C) 3 non-
profit organization incorporated in 2002. LIFT does not discriminate
based on ethnic/national origin, color, race, religion, gender, disability,
or age.
 LIFT Inc. assists displaced men due to incarceration, homelessness, or
men living in transitional facilities. LIFT offers specialized life
training programs and services to men that will directly assist women
and at-risk youth affected by men in transition.
 Services and programs focus on education, developing personal and
spiritual growth, self esteem, creating job and entrepreneurship
opportunities.
LIFT Vision
LIFT Objectives
 Create a transitional vehicle to assist individuals after release from the
Arkansas Department of Corrections (ADC).
 Support men in committing to establish, or re-establish, family values
and encourage family bonding.
 Offer services, programs, and life skills to clients through an involved
support system.
 LIFT secures home and job placement for individuals who have been
released from correctional or transitional facilities.
 LIFT works to equip and strengthen our client’s ability to enter the
global job market in order that they may become successful and
productive members of our community.
LIFT Goals
 LIFT 24 month Pilot/ Feasibility study is a program started
under the leadership of Reverend David Featherstone,
supporting men in breaking the cycle of crime, addiction,
and failure, through returning men back to church, work, and
family.
 The 24 month Pilot/Feasibility Program involved working
with 26 men that were clients of Love Initiates Faith and
Truth (LIFT), Inc. This study shows that LIFT is a vital
component to reducing the recidivism rate as none of the 26
men have returned to incarceration.
LIFT 24 Month Pilot Program

LIFT Services
Continued…
Family Bonding and Reintegration
Clients are taught and encouraged that family bonding and reintegration must be something they
need and want. The value of family involvement in one’s life is priceless.
 Rehabilitative and On-Going Follow Up Services
LIFT Inc. has adopted the Cognitive Behavioral Approach in working with clients. Emphasis is
based on the concept that the way we think determines how we feel and act.
Clients are referred to professional services that help them attain full mental, physical, and
spiritual health.
Spiritual Enrichment
• Teaching one how to become familiar with the Bible
• Using the Bible as a guide for one’s life
• The importance of church and church involvement
• Being reminded that the church is about people and not a building
• Always remembering “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”
LIFT Programs
 Employment
LIFT supports clients in preparing for job interviews, application process, locating
employers, and transportation needs.
 Entrepreneurship
We believe entrepreneurship is the key to the American dream. Many ex-offenders have
operated business from an illegal prospective. LIFT will provide them with necessary
tools, education, training, and mentoring needed to operate a successful, legal business.
 Anger Management
Clients work to learn how to identify and communicate the root cause of problems and focus
on how to solve them. Emphasis on how to cope with controlling ones temper, non-use of
profanity, and other anger manifestations always begins with LOVE. Clients learn to take
responsibility for their actions by being able to admit when they are wrong and always seek
RECONCILIATION.
 Mentoring
This is a 3 month commitment where the mentor and client develop a relationship that
supports the success of the client’s plans and life’s journey.
 Financial Management
Clients work on achieving financial goals, development of a saving plan, learn to invest for
the future, and work to understand the value of home ownership.
