CBD College hosted a successful blood drive on April 26th, collecting 26 donations which can help 78 patients in LA area hospitals. Despite only 5% of eligible donors participating nationwide, the college's efforts contribute to alleviating critical blood shortages and includes participation in a national competition for scholarship nominations. The community's involvement is commended for making a significant impact on those in need.

1. LIFESTREAM SPRING BLOOD DRIVE
Fast Fact: Did you know that 37% of the US population is eligible to donate blood at any given time?
Unfortunately of those 37% only less than 5% of eligible candidates actually donate. This lack of
participation is a major reason as to why there is a critical blood shortage throughout the United States.
CBD College continues to support organizations such as the American Red Cross and LifeStream Blood
Bank by hosting quarterly Blood Drives held on campus! Our amazing Medical Assistant department
hosted their second blood drive of the year on April 26th. Students, faculty and staff banded together and
were able to rally with a total of 26 donations!
These donations will have the capacity to help up to 78 LA area hospital patients in need of care.

blood drive brought an added bonus.
Through the Cesar Chavez Blood Drive
Challenge, CBD College participated in a
national competition against other colleges
and universities. If among the top 50
donating campuses nationwide, CBD
College will be eligible to nominate a
student for a $1,000 scholarship. A big thank
