The president of CBD College provides an update on COVID-19 procedures and plans for limited in-person training. The start date for in-person skills labs for specific surgical technology and physical therapist assistant cohorts is postponed two weeks to July 27 to allow more time to analyze guidance and safety procedures. Only certain healthcare programs where face-to-face completion of labs is needed will be permitted limited campus access, while all other coursework remains online. Students will be notified of any further changes by the president and program directors.

William Korson is the MRI Clinical Director at CBD College. He has over 34 years of experience in medical imaging, originally working as an x-ray technologist and CT specialist before transitioning to MRI. He pursued instructing after enjoying teaching physicians and technologists in his role as an applications specialist. His greatest inspiration is his father, from whom he learned the importance of work ethics. In his advice to students, he emphasizes having empathy, compassion, and a desire to help others, as well as demonstrating professionalism, respect, communication skills, and dependability.

Richard Tovar graduated from CBD College's Surgical Technician program. He was motivated to pursue a career change after many years of labor jobs with long hours. He worked hard to earn his high school diploma and studied diligently at CBD College, often staying late or coming in on Fridays to practice techniques. During his clinical rotations, he exceeded requirements by working extra hours. He was then hired at his clinical site. Currently, Richard enjoys his position as a surgical technician and sales representative, where he works with surgeons and gets to learn about the medical field. His biggest inspiration is his wife, who supported him throughout his education. In his free time, he enjoys spending more quality time with his kids due to his

1. CBD College Fall Graduation 2022
On Thursday, October 13, 2022, CBD College held its fall Graduation Ceremony at the Wilshire
Ebell Theatre, commencing over 150 Graduates from the school’s seven programs. The graduates
from our Occupational Therapy Assistant, Surgical Technologist, Diagnostic Medical
Sonography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Bachelor of Health Science, Physical Therapist
Assistant, and the first graduating class of the Health Information Technology programs, walked
gleefully across the stage to receive their hard-earned diplomas.
Family, friends, staff, and faculty filled the Auditorium in support of their new Graduates. The MC
kicked off the ceremony, which included our very own Mathematics instructor Kristophe Malone
singing the national anthem. Student Testimonial videos as well as a Student Life
2. videos commemorated the journey each Graduate went through during their time at CBD
College. Graduate Jesse Moreno from the PTA Program was the class speaker for his respective
cohort and shared a moving speech on perseverance throughout his time at CBD College while
battling Lupus. The event concluded with Pomp and Circumstance and the Graduates proceeded
in front of their friends and family confidently, ready to take on their careers. The ceremony
marked not just a completion of a degree and end of classes, but the beginning of a journey with
new opportunities, careers, and continual education.
We at CBD College would like to congratulate our graduates on reaching this milestone! We wish
you nothing but the very best. Congratulations CBD College Class of 2022, you did it!
