   among Belmont County schools.
 • 80% of our graduates go on to attend a 2 or 4
   year college.
 • Offer most AP courses in county.
 • Fine Arts and athletic programs continue to

 Reductions:
 • FY2013 = $ 687,356.05 (15 positions)
 • FY2012 = $ 245,509.47 (5 positions)
 • FY2011 = $ 313,188.38 (9 positions)
 • FY2010 = $ 47,649.00 (1 position)
 • FY2009 = $ 111,025.00 (4 positions)
 • Total = $ 2,863,661.13(34 positions)
 *Total represents 21% of current operating budget

Doing More with Less
 Reductions:
 • All staff have been under a pay freeze since
   August of 2011.
 • Concessions have been made regarding
   health insurance, retirement and staffing.

Reductions in State Funding:
• FY02 district received $927,812.59 in TPP taxes
• FY13 district received $274,368 in TPP taxes
   – A reduction of $653,444.59 or 70.42%
• FY04 =$3,826,923 in unrestricted state aide
   – student population of 1542
• FY13 =$3,251,976 in unrestricted state aide
   – student population of 1633
   ***91 additional students
   ***$1,228,391.59 less state funding

Community Supported
              Projects
 Stadium Improvement and Elementary
   Playground Projects were funded entirely
   through community and alumni donations –
   not through taxpayer dollars.
 Middle School Auditorium upgrades were
   accomplished through grants and volunteer
   labor.
 District Security Plans funded through a
   Homeland Security grant.

History
 • 1999 = 5.98 Mill levy voted down by 1391
 • 2000 = 5 Mill levy voted down by 825
 • Tax payers voted down a new multi-million dollar
   facility. We listened!
 • 2001 = 2.95 Mill bond passed 1893 to 1890.
 • MS/HS connector was built.

 • 2013 =    Bond paid in full!

 2002 Bond Issue:
 • Connector Building HS/MS
 • New Doors & windows HS/MS
 • New Communication System HS/MS
 • New roof on HS/MS
 • Cameras for all buildings
 • New fire alarm system for HS/MS

 New levy would help finance:
 • New Roof on the Elementary School
    – $500,000 to replace membrane.
    – $1,000,000 new metal roof.
 • Upgrade electric $1,685,000 million
 • New doors and windows $703,091
