My condolences on this untimely and awful news. I’m in disbelief that they would let
someone of your caliber go like this. I really am speechless, but I wanted to reach out
to let you know that it has been a pleasure working with you. An individual with as
much business and technical knowledge as yourself show be able to land on their feet
even in this economy. There is opportunity out there and I know you will find a great fit.
You and your family will be in my prayers this holiday season. I truly wish you the best
and know that you will come out on top.

Subject: Confirmation of Yesterday's Reduction In Force/Thank You For All That You Have Done
 
To my Video Team members,
 
As you may have heard, I was personally affected yesterday, Thursday, 12/9/2010, by the Reduction in
Force (RIF) that went through our organization. I now have 30 days to find a new job within Verizon
Business with my last date of employment being January 7th.  Even though I remain positively optimistic, I 
know that it is highly doubtful that a new job opportunity would avail itself to me within the timeframe that I
have left at Verizon Business – especially so close to the Christmas holiday break. I have to say that the
news came to me as quite a shock since I have been “knee deep” in attempting to bring in new revenue
to Verizon Business. I, and my family, are still “reeling from the news” that my manager, Bill Brinson, had
to give me yesterday.
 
With that said, I do want to thank each of you. It was a great pleasure to work with two of the most
professional people within this organization. I know that you dedicated yourselves to your work everyday
and were highly effective in making Verizon Business successful. With your due diligence, we had some
big Video sale successes for Verizon, such as:
 
      Alcoa (soon to be awarded to VZB)
      National Grid
      Procter & Gamble
      Coventry Healthcare
      GE
      Western & Southern
      Hayes Lemmerz
      (Soon to be Xerox)

       And these were only the ones that I was personally involved in….
 
I learned so much from all of you guys and I really wanted to thank you personally. I know that I am a better
engineer and a consummate sales representative of this company after spending four years teaming up with your
group.  
 
I do not know what the future may hold for me, but I do wish you the best and much success. I will be working
through January 7th, 2011 at Verizon Business – closing up any open issues while interviewing for a new position
(inside and outside the company). If you need to reach me, you can call the office or my mobile number at (248)

I now have 30 days to find a new job within Verizon Business with my last date of employment being January 7th.  Even though I remain positively optimistic, I  know that it is highly doubtful that a new job opportunity would avail itself to me within the timeframe that I have left at Verizon Business – especially so close to the Christmas holiday break. I have to say that the news came to me as quite a shock since I have been “knee deep” in attempting to bring in new revenue to Verizon Business. I, and my family, are still “reeling from the news” that my manager, Bill Brinson, had to give me yesterday.   With that said, I do want to thank each of you. It was a great pleasure to work with two of the most professional people within this organization. I know that you dedicated yourselves to your work everyday and were highly effective in making Verizon Business successful.
