Narayana Murthy and his wife enjoyed watching the movie Chak De India in a theater filled with mostly young crowds in their twenties. The movie generated loud cheers and shouts of joy from the audience as India scored goals in the fictional women's hockey tournament portrayed in the film. At the end of the movie, the mood in the theater was as if India had actually won the real women's world cup in hockey. Murthy relates to this feeling of pride, having felt similar joy and pride himself when he received an entrepreneurship award while holding the Indian flag, with India being declared the winner over 40 competing nations.
