"LES MISERABLES" TO BOW OUT IN STATE COLLEGE WITH FUSE PRODUCTIONS
PRESENTATION
Au revoir, Javert. So long, Jean Valjean.
Prepare to bid adieu to the famous characters of “Les Misérables,” the blockbuster musical set
amid 19th-century Parisian revolution. The licensing rights to the show are being pulled as of
June 30, meaning audiences won’t see or hear classic scenes or numbers for several years.
The last chance to catch the heroic Valjean and dogged Javert on stage before they go into
temporary retirement?
It’ll be in State College.
Tickets go on sale March 18 for FUSE Production’s presentation of “Les Misérables” at Penn
State’s Eisenhower Auditorium on the University Park campus.
New York professionals and Penn State theatre students and alumni will join a large cast of top
local actors for shows at 7:30 p.m. June 26 and 2 p.m. June 27. Dan Riddle, the music director
for the Penn State School of Theatre and a veteran Broadway conductor, will lead the orchestra.
FUSE Productions Producing Artistic Director Richard Biever will direct the production, and Jill
A. Brighton, the director of the Central Pennsylvania Dance Workshop studio, will be the
choreographer, adding to her long list of shows.
Admission will be $37.50 for adults and $27.50 for children and students, with prices including
ticketing fees. The show is sponsored in part by Centre Eye Physicians and Surgeons and the
Centre Daily Times.

FUSE Productions is a State College-based independent theatre company whose mission is “to
