Ladakh Ecological Development Group (LEDeG) is appealing for support to help victims of flooding in the Leh region of India. Over 173 people died and 600 are still missing after severe flooding and landslides in August 2010. LEDeG has provided immediate relief but more support is needed, particularly for housing as winter approaches. LEDeG plans to focus on rebuilding houses to be more energy efficient and possibly include solar power in the remote Himalayan villages affected. Donations are requested to fund LEDeG's reconstruction efforts to improve winter living conditions for victims.
