If the question is “have you ever been convicted of a
felony?” and you only have a misdemeanor then you
are not required to disclose the misdemeanor
If the question is “Have you ever been arrested?”
then disclosing a misdemeanor is necessary
The question may state a time frame, such as “Have
you been arrested in the past 7 years?” and your last
arrest was 8 years ago, you are not required to
disclose any arrest

A summary statement should be 1-2 paragraphs
describing your legal background
Drafted in advance and memorized if possible
