This presentation is meant as a supplementary presentation for the main presentation titled as Becoming a Better Teacher, used for the participants of a programme organized by the Academic Staff College of Osmania University, Hyderabad. Hopefully, this presentation will tune the minds of the participants to the noble profession.
The document contrasts the roles of a teacher and a guru. It states that a teacher provides knowledge and instruction to students, while a guru helps students look inward and strips away ego to facilitate spiritual growth. Some key differences highlighted are that teachers give students things they need, while gurus remove things students don't need. Teachers answer questions and help students succeed in the outer world, whereas gurus question answers and help students find freedom and serenity through their inner journey.
This document discusses different cognitive views of learning, specifically the views of Jerome Bruner and David Ausubel. It uses the example of teaching the concept of immortality through the novel "Tuck Everlasting". Bruner's view is that students should discover concepts through guided exploration, while Ausubel believes concepts should be directly presented with clear organization. The document proposes using both approaches to teach this concept, initially allowing students to form hypotheses about immortality, then providing a structured outline of the pros and cons as the novel progresses. Technology like PowerPoint would allow students to demonstrate how their views change over time.
The student describes their negative experiences at school, including piles of upsetting memories, a lack of harmony, disorderly classrooms, disturbing acts by students, vandalism treated as normal, uncontrolled moods, overwhelmed teachers, and an impossible workload that is killing the teachers. The student appeals to supervisors for help, saying changes are needed and all must work together to light a candle and lead the way out of this difficult situation.
The document discusses the reasons for pursuing a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education), including to gain a deeper understanding of child development and learning theory to become a better teacher, to reflect deeply on classroom experiences to improve teaching skills, and to obtain a qualification that allows teaching across many countries and gives an academic advantage when applying for jobs or pursuing a master's degree.
The document discusses the Suggestopedia method for teaching second language acquisition. Suggestopedia uses techniques like rhythmic breathing, music, and arranging chairs in a semicircle to help students relax and pay attention. The goal is for students to understand concepts rather than just memorize them. Studies show students learn English 3-5 times faster using Suggestopedia compared to conventional methods. The author recommends using Suggestopedia once they become a teacher, and believes teachers should find effective teaching methods and show enthusiasm to help students learn English as a second language.
The document contrasts the roles of a teacher and a guru. A teacher provides instruction and guidance to help students succeed in the outer world, while a guru facilitates inner growth and awakening by challenging students and stripping away unnecessary knowledge and ego. Overall, a teacher equips students for prosperity, while a guru guides students toward serenity and freedom from the constraints of the world.
The document contrasts the roles of a teacher and a guru. It states that a teacher provides knowledge and instruction to students, prepares them for the external world, and answers their questions. A guru, on the other hand, makes students responsible for their own growth, strips away unnecessary things, questions students' answers, destroys conceptual frameworks, and prepares students for inner journeys by pointing them towards wisdom and freedom. While a teacher-student relationship is like parent-child, a guru-student relationship is more profound, as a guru finds and accepts students and leads by example rather than instruction.

The author reflects on their experience creating their first lesson plan and teaching their first demo lesson. They found the process of creating a lesson plan to be very stressful and challenging as they had to consider many factors and could not anticipate all student responses. Through actually teaching the lesson, their perspective changed dramatically. They realized teaching is about more than just imparting knowledge - it is about educating students and sparking their love of learning. The experience of lesson planning and teaching their first demo was transformative for the author and altered their view of what it means to be a teacher.
The brain can develop and increase intellectual ability through practice and challenging itself in several ways:
1) The more a brain is used through complex stimulation and problem-solving, the stronger its connections become and the smarter the person.
2) New connections form in the brain when it learns new information and skills, storing knowledge and improving thinking.
3) Using good learning strategies like challenging problems, asking for help, and pushing one's limits can forge new brain connections and make a person smarter over time. Regular practice strengthens the brain like a muscle.
I taught General Paper and started the School Of The Thought to help students struggling with personal and academic issues like I once did, as this initiative aims to make students realize they can try new things and achieve the impossible in Singapore. We seek your support to help students do better and pursue their dreams.
The document discusses the author's experience creating their first lesson plan for a teaching demonstration. Initially, the author found creating a lesson plan very stressful as it required skills they had never used before like being creative, predicting how students may respond, managing time, and controlling their temper. Through the process, the author realized teaching requires more than just imparting knowledge - it means touching students' lives and ensuring they learn in an engaging way. Although initially finding the lesson plan stressful, the author realized it became their "best friend" and "companion" during the demonstration, keeping them on track. The experience was a wake-up call, changing the author's perspective and showing teaching is more than they had imagined and requires altering their behaviors

A market is any place that brings together a buyer and a seller to agree a price to exchange goods or services.
A market can be:
very formal such as a shop,
a financial market such the Stock Exchange,
a car boot sale, selling goods from a street corner,
an advert in a local newspaper.
The document discusses the need to establish an organized insurance market in Iran given the large risks in the current insurance market conditions. It notes that the current reliance on a few insurance companies to accept and distribute risks means risks are mainly managed through central insurance companies. It also discusses reviewing organized markets in other countries, both traditional insurance exchanges and modern fintech and reinsurance platforms, as well as the purposes and features of the historic New York Insurance Exchange.
The document discusses various clauses commonly found in reinsurance contracts. It describes clauses related to facultative and treaty wordings, including clauses for proportional and non-proportional treaties. For proportional treaties it covers cession, accounting, premium, claims, and portfolio transfer clauses. For non-proportional treaties it discusses basis of cover, premium, ultimate net loss, limits/deductibles, reinstatement, claims, and currency fluctuation clauses. The document provides details on the purpose and content of these standard reinsurance contract clauses.

ROLE OF SERVICES IN AN ECONOMY
Learning Objectives Describe the central role of services in an economy. Discuss the evolution of an economy from an agrarian society to a service society. Describe the features of preindustrial, industrial, and postindustrial societies. Describe the features of the new service economy
Insurance is different from most products as it is a promise to do something in the future if certain events take place during a specified time period.
Unlike a can of soup, a pair of shoes, or a car, the ultimate cost of an insurance policy is not known at the time of the sale

How to Make a Field Mandatory in Odoo 17Celine George
In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.
