The launch event of the Global Youth Entrepreneurship
Summit will bring together leaders in youth
entrepreneurship from around the world.
Participants from businesses, governments and non-
profit organisations will share successful approaches to
helping young entrepreneurs around the world and their
experiences of building global partnerships which enable
more young people to start their own business.
Attended by 300 people from 50 countries, this event
is a must for leaders from all sectors.

Auditorium 	 Taking forward Monday’s launch of the Global Summit, the Leadership Sessions will officially begin, including a 		
	 welcome by the day’s host. This plenary will outline the key goals and themes of the Sessions; and it will review YBI’s 	
	 network journey since the last Global Forum in Mexico 2010, as YBI looks ahead to take forward successes and learn

Auditorium 	Members who have joined YBI since the 2010 Global Forum in Mexico will be introduced. They will explain their

Carisbrooke Hall 	 Sector experts will present the latest thinking on how NGOs are building knowledge to improve efficiency
	 and effectiveness and to influence policy. The speakers will be joined by YBI’s member from France and
	 YBI’s Director of Strategy and Performance in a discussion about YBI’s network opportunity to grow as the
	 leading knowledge base in youth entrepreneurship. Moderator: Karen Wilson, OECD, consultant, and

	 practical experiences of building and sharing network knowledge in key programmatic areas. The member
	 panellists will each be participants in the Summit Specialist Tracks. Moderator: Adam Lury, YBI, Board
	member. Speakers: YBI specialists from four members in: Mentoring, Training, OMS, Monitoring, Evaluation 	
	 and Learning; Maarten Rooney, YBI, COO.
15.00 – 17.30 	 NETWORKING FOR KNOWLEDGE (during which tea and coffee will be served)
Various 	 The YBI knowledge community in action: open sessions will be held on key YBI knowledge topics. These
	 sessions will run simultaneously and give all delegates the opportunity to meet network specialists, share
	 knowledge and learn new ideas in key operational and organisational areas including those covered by the
	 Specialist Tracks: Mentoring; Training; Technology (OMS); Monitoring; evaluation and learning; Local 		
	 partnerships; Access to finance; and Social entrepreneurship. A separate agenda will be provided on the day 		
	 with more detail about these sessions.

Carisbrooke Hall 	 The General Meeting will begin the day’s network discussions on: “where have we been, and where are we
	 going?”. A panel representing the YBI Board will present the activities of the Executive Team and Board 		
	 of Directors to members. Four resolutions will be put to the Members (i.e. Shareholders of YBI – all accredited 		
	 members and ‘B’ members) concerning operational aspects of the Network organisation. There will be several
	 Q&A opportunities. YBI Board representatives: Sir Malcolm Williamson, YBI,Chairman; Andrew Devenport, 	
	 YBI, CEO; Liz Padmore and Fadi Sarkis, YBI, Board members. Also present will be YBI ‘B’ members, Rosemary 		
	O’Mahony, Bill Reese, Sir Tom Shebbeare and Mark Strudwick.

Carisbrooke Hall 	 Building on the General Meeting discussion, the Knowledge Debate of the previous day, and the member

This plenary will outline the key goals and themes of the Sessions; and it will review YBI’s network journey since the last Global Forum in Mexico 2010, as YBI looks ahead to take forward successes and learn from challenges over the next three years. Speakers: Michael Sherwood, Goldman Sachs Group, ViceChairman; Andrew Devenport, YBI, CEO. 10.00 – 10.45 Welcoming YBI new joiners Auditorium Members who have joined YBI since the 2010 Global Forum in Mexico will be introduced. They will explain their motivations and aspirations for network membership, addressing the core question: “what do you aim to get out of YBI membership and what do you bring to the network?”. YBI’s approach to expanding into new markets since 2010 will be outlined as a key channel for network growth. A panel representing the YBI Board will present the activities of the Executive Team and Board of Directors to members. Four resolutions will be put to the Members (i.e. Shareholders of YBI – all accredited members and ‘B’ members) concerning operational aspects of the Network organisation. There will be several Q&A opportunities. YBI Board representatives: Sir Malcolm Williamson, YBI,Chairman; Andrew Devenport, YBI, CEO; Liz Padmore and Fadi Sarkis, YBI, Board members.
