Leadership Documentary

          Dr. Rose
      By Tracey Bodo
"Integrity without courage, perseverance, and
knowledge is weak and useless, and courage,
   perseverance, and knowledge without
           integrity is dangerous."
              —Tracey Bodo
A great leader will have to be bold,
  innovative, creative and forward
thinking in order to cultivate the
success in the 21st century economy
            and society.
The following leaders have made their mark in
history as having fortitude, dedication, and
                   insight.
"Nearly all men can stand
adversity, but if you want to
test a man's character, give him
power."
-Abraham Lincoln
DETERMINATION

        “You must never be fearful
        about what you are doing
        when it is right. ”
        ― Rosa Parks
“I am not interested in power for power's sake, but I'm
interested in power that is moral, that is right and that
                       is good.”
               -Martin Luther King, Jr.
COURAGE

    “We weren’t assigned, we
       were requested.”
    -Lt. Col. Benjamin Davis
A WOMAN BEFORE HER TIME

“A woman is like a tea bag; you don’t know how
strong she is until she’s in hot water.”
― Eleanor Roosevelt
FORTITUDE

“I learned that courage was not
the absence of fear, but the
triumph over it. The brave man
is not he who does not feel
afraid, but he who conquers
that fear.”
― Nelson Mandela
“Happiness lies in the joy of
achievement and the thrill of
creative effort.”
― Franklin D. Roosevelt
WISDOM

“I am prepared to die, but there is
no cause for which I am prepared
to kill.”
-Mahatma Gandhi
“Every great dream begins with a
dreamer. Always remember, you DEDICATION
have within you the strength, the
patience, and the passion to
reach for the stars to change
the world.”
― Harriet Tubman
INTELLIGENCE

“Great difficulties may be
surmounted by patience and
perseverance.”
― Abigail Adams
All of these great leaders were
prepared to re-design the systems,
 structures, beliefs or processes
        during their time.
“Autonomy is a key ingredient for the
  development of powerful intrinsic
motivation that allows an individual to
innovate, be creative and solve difficult
              problems”
           -Adrian Manuel
I believe that schools as they exist today,
    consist of many ill-designed systems,
   structures and processes for educating
students and preparing them to be successful
in the world we live in.
Although we do not have control over much of
the decision making for our system, we can
strive to make progress and innovate from the
school level ways that will bring ripples of
reform for ourselves and others in the system.
We must innovate in order to be successful!
