2. Finding the right team

5. Repeat the process until the solution is found

• Are you competent in your industry?
• Are you competent scientifically towards the
problem you face?
• Have you found a real problem?
– A real problem
• Hurts
• Causes complexity
• Costs resources
2. Finding the right team
• Can you communicate the problem efficently
to the right people with the right
communication tools?
– 90 seconds to pitch me the idea
– Use key words
– Show trustable apperance
• ‘’According to X, 90% of Canadians would like to be
part of a hockey team but can’t afford it. We found
out we could lower the prices of being part of a
hockey team by doing Y.’’

• More then 3000 iterations to create a real
innovation
• Walt Disney:
– More then 300 attemps before he was financed
by a bank
• Fail faster
• Learn from faillure
• Provoke faillures before they happen!
• Pre-mortem and post-mortem analysis
– Intellectually destroy your idea before it is sold!
4. Ajusting and finding resources
(time, money, more people)
• Can you make 360$ with 5$?
– This kid did: Jonathan Grignon
• He bought sugar and sold candy
• Can you start a business with garbage?
– This kid did: Kelvin Doe (15 years old!)
• He found radio parts and made radios from garbage
• Can you start a business with boxes?
– This kid did: Caine's Arcade (9 years old!)
• He made games with cardbord
5. Repeat the process until the
solution is found
• Now that you have done all this job, the real
hard part begins…
– Now, you need to sell the solution to skeptics
• How do you do that?
– That’s called sales, publicity and marketing.
– Now, you need to build a strong production
• How do you do that?
– That’s called management, finance and production.
Now, what?
• Just don’t fall to hard
• Risk analysis
• Innovate again and again
• Motivate your team
