Schneider Electric's new green headquarters building in Paris, called Le Hive, was designed and built to be highly energy efficient. It uses EcoStruxure, an integrated energy management system, to optimize building systems like HVAC, lighting, and security. Energy usage is closely monitored through extensive metering to identify savings opportunities. Occupants can control their local environments through wall panels and help meet efficiency goals through an employee engagement program aimed at eco-friendly behaviors. The building has achieved major energy reductions since opening in 2008 through technical solutions, certification programs, and increased awareness.
